A reckless Saudi motorist has been jailed after speeding into the gate of the Grand Mosque in Mecca last Friday night, and behaved in an unusual condition after the police caught him.
Shocking footage by the Makkah Province reveals the motorist, a Saudi National, sped in his grey Hyundai Sonata crashing into the Grand Mosque entrance’s plastic barriers before ramming into Gate 89 of the mosque in the midst of a prayer. The vehicle drew to a halt after the crash as Saudi Arabia’s state-run channel Saudi Qur’an’s broadcast remained uninterrupted.
As of now, the motorist has been sentenced to imprisonment and his case has been referred to Public Prosecution. It’s believed he was in an unstable condition when he was caught by the cops.
Dozens of people rushed to the side after seeing the vehicle speeding at the holy site. No casualties have been reported until now.
