Following the death of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the UAE sent a delegation to Muscat mourning to his death and offered their condolences.
Sultan Qaboos passes away aged 79
His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said passed away on 10th January, 2020 due to poor health aged 79. He served as the Sultan of Oman since 1970 and was the Arab World’s longest-serving ruler, claiming the throne for 50 years. Under his rulership, Oman grew from an underpopulated and a less economically developed country to a prominent oil exporter and a hub for high-end tourism. He’s succeeded by his cousin, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the UAE delegation at the mourning ceremony in Muscat, alongside Ruler of Sharjah Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and many more.
