An Emirati attendant at Dubai’s Emirates Towers metro station is gaining praise all over social media after Sheikh Mohammed lauded his simple move to refill a resident’s Nol card after she forgot her wallet.
UAE resident Ashleigh Stewart made her way towards the Emirates Towers metro station and found herself in a fix when she realized she didn’t have her wallet. Abdullah Alqassab, an Emirati attendant at the metro station, offered to refill her Nol card and didn’t agree to take any payment back in the future.
Ashleigh took to Twitter sharing the heartwarming experience and it wasn’t until the Emir of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum replied to her tweet, calling Abdullah “a true example of a real civil servant.”

Eventually, Ashleigh reached out to Abdullah to thank him again for his generous move and joked it was the best five dirhams he’s spent. The metro station replied “I cannot express my gratitude to you, you made my day, you made me feel happy a lot.”
Dubai’s Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) rewarded Abdullah and was honoured by His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors the following day, for “handling the situation encountered in a positive manner and taking the initiative to top-up the tourist’s card, highlighting that the employee’s behaviour reflects UAE nation’s culture, who do not hesitate in providing assistance to everyone.” Check out the video:
Customer satisfaction has always been a top priority for the Dubai Government. Every now and then, Sheikh Mohammed makes impromptu visits to government offices and inspect ongoing projects. Not to mention the infamous mystery shopper visit to the Emirates Post Karama office that disappointed the Ruler, which led to an annual rating system of all the emirate’s government offices.
