In time for the United Nations’ 75th anniversary, Sheikh Mohammed spoke of combating Coronavirus through “cooperation and coordination” and how the UAE’s strength lies in “diversity and solidarity.”
2020 is a landmark year for the United Nations, celebrating its 75th anniversary and they’re marking the milestone with an initiative on the world’s largest global conversation, ‘the future we want,’ inviting people of all walks of life to share ideas and how they can make it a reality.
In a High-level Meeting to Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, said “there is no future for anyone without cooperating with the other, and that no nation can isolate itself from the rest of the world,” emphasizing on how global cooperation is critical to containing the pandemic.

He even spoke of the how Coronavirus posed an opportunity for the UAE, saying “we have responded to the global call to transform this challenge posed by the pandemic into opportunities. Opportunities for innovation, sustainability and human development.”
In the end, the UAE Prime Minister highlighted the hotly anticipated Expo 2020 beginning this October, promising “Dubai and the UAE will dazzle the world.”
