A fresh coat of snow adorned through the mountains of Jebel Jais and parts of Ras Al Khaimah in the aftermath of a massive hailstorm in the UAE.
It’s snowing in Jebel Jais!
It’s not often you see snow in Ras Al Al Khaimah, but when you, there’s nothing quite like it. Following the heavy storms in the UAE over the last few days, it’s left enough snow to take over the UAE’s tallest mountain and parts of the northern emirate. Here’s what the terrain looks like:
Orange alert
With the ongoing storm, the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology issued an Orange Alert for Jebel Jais, warning residents to ‘be on the alert” as “hazardous weather events” are predicted at the mountainous region.The lowest temperature recorded was -0.1 degrees Celcius.

Meanwhile, some thrill-seekers headed for Jebel Jais to enjoy the snow and build a snowman, decorated with the UAE flag, sunglasses, gloves, a scarf and a “ghatra.” Check it out:
